I remember years ago, 1997 to be exact, as an undergraduate student at Kent State University when a group of us loaded a bus to attend The Million Women March in Philadelphia. Fast forward to 2012, in the wake of the senseless murder of a 17 year old young Black male in Sanford, FL, who will never have the chance to be a college student like I was. I praise the young people who organized The Million Hoodie March to raise awareness for justice. I can’t be in NY today for The Million Hoodie March but I put my hoodie on to show my support for the Martin family. We have to raise our voices to bring #Justice for #TrayvonMartin
And if you are a poet or know others who are, please join The #AnthologyForJustice Project. Check out my March Thirty One Poetry blog at http://marchthirtyone.wordpress.com for details.
Peace
